Making your home green:

 

Upgrading your home is important for many reasons.  Two immediate benefits to making your home more green is that you'll see are lower utility bills, and a safer, more comfortable home.  On average, 30% of the money we spend on heating and cooling is wasted.  Energy escapes through small holes between basement and attic walls, or poorly insulated walls, windows, and doors

 

green home revolution LLC has partnered with PUSH Green of Western New York to offer you free or reduced-cost energy assessments.  PUSH Green is a nonprofit community-based, energy efficiency program funded by People United for Sustainable Housing (PUSH Buffalo) and New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), that is part of a statewide effort to make your home more comfortable, reduce your energy usage and your bills, and create local jobs.

 

Through the PUSH Green program, you will be paired with a trained Energy Advocate and contractor who can assess the needs of your home or business.  They will make an on-site visit and describe exactly what work needs to be done to make your home as energy efficient as possible.  They will inspect your living space, attic, basement, and perform a number of tests using diagnostic equipment.  A contractor will also perform essential health and safety tests to determine whether your furnace, boiler, hot water tank, and stove are operating safely.  They will also check your home for mold and asbestos problems.

 

Once you decide what improvements are best for you, your Energy Advocate will discuss your options for financing the project.  Options such as On-Bill-Recovery make paying for improvements incredibly easy by allowing payments to come out of your energy bill.  You might even qualify for subsidies!  Through the Friends and Neighbors Program, you can make an even larger impact while saving even more money.
